On Saturday, March 29th from 9 AM-12PM, refuge staff and volunteers gathered together for a tree-planting at the new rookery on the Skillern Tract.
Workers were ferried across a thirty-foot moat surrounding the rookery island and planted trees to help create a nesting environment for future generations of birds.
This event was the culmination of hard work by refuge staff and volunteers resulting in hundreds of trees and sprigs being planted.
